MANADO, KOMPAS – The East Bolaang Mongondow regency in North Sulawesi plans to sell its entire fleet of official cars and motorcycles used by second- and third-tier officials. The related vehicle maintenance and fuel allowance reach billions of rupiahs every year, burdening the regional budget. In exchange, all officials will be given a monthly transport allowance totaling Rp 8 million.
East Bolaang Mongondow Regent Sehan Landjar said in Tutuyan on Saturday (30/6/2018) that selling the official vehicles would reduce the burden on the regional budget by nearly Rp 10 billion every year, more than half the regency’s annual revenue of Rp 17 billion.
