Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong show their work on Sunday (13/5/2018) as part of the Mandiri Sahabatku 2018 training program. The program empowers them in developing their own businesses when they repatriate to Indonesia.

Living abroad, about 3,300 kilometers away from their hometown, some Indonesian migrant workers feel at home. With entrepreneurship training provided by the government and support given by their employers, migrant workers can be empowered.

Upi Widyawati, 30, smiled happily on Sunday after she passed the 2018 Mandiri Sahabatku entrepreneurship training program. Upi is now a proficient makeup artist. "Ojo suwi-suwi nang (Donโ€™t stay too long in) Hong Kong," she said in Javanese.
