The representatives of 14 national parties and four local parties participating in the 2019 elections hold up their ballot numbers on Sunday evening (18/2). The parties obtained their ballot numbers through a draw organized by the General Elections Commission (KPU) at its Jakarta office.

The successive defeat the General Elections Commission (KPU) has met in organizing the 2018 regional elections and the 2019 general election must be used to whip the KPU and the Regional General Elections Commission (KPUD) into shape.

In the latest defeat, the KPU’s decision on the ineligibility of the Crescent Star Party (PBB) in the 2019 general election was annulled by the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu). The Bawaslu has instructed the KPU to declare the PBB eligible for contesting the 2019 election. The Indonesian Justice and Unity Party of Indonesia (PKPI) has filed a separate lawsuit on its electoral eligibility for the 2019 elections and is awaiting the Bawaslu\'s ruling.
