Rehabilitation of Citarum River Begins at Cisanti Lake

The rehabilitation of Citarum River has begun with Situ Cisanti Lake where the river begins.

Members of the Citarum River Improvement Task Force clean up water hyacinth and moss at Cisanti Lake, Tarumajaya village, Kertasari district, Bandung regency, West Java, on Sunday (28/1). The excessive growth of hyacinth and moss affects the function and reduces the width of the lake at the upstream Citarum River. If the upstream ecosystem is affected, it will also affect the function of the river downstream.

The rehabilitation of Citarum River has begun with Cisanti Lake where the river begins.

The lake has been cleaned while the surrounding hills, which were previously used for vegetable gardens, have been revegetated and the work of the farmers altered. The hill is prone to landslide.
