Lecturer and Movie Director

Yusron played a huge role in creating film. Apart from directing it, he was also screenwriter, producer and actor.

You might expect a movie with the title “Tengkorak” (Skull) to belong to the horror genre. In reality, it is a science fiction movie made by the academic community at Yogyakarta’s Gadjah Mada University (UGM). With a budget crowd-funded from the salaries of UGM lecturers, the film was finally completed recently after being in production for four years.

The 130-minute film will represent Indonesia at the Cinequest Film and Virtual Reality Festival 2018 in Silicon Valley, California in March. The film’s director Yusron Fuadi is a lecturer at UGM Vocational School, which focuses on the implementation of knowledge to resolve problems in practical ways.
