Two tourists from India are on holiday in safe areas outside the danger zone --a 10-kilometer radius from Mount Agung-- in Bali. The tourists took photographs with Mount Batur in the background in Bangli regency, Bali, on Saturday (16/12) afternoon.

DENPASAR, KOMPAS — The government has given an assurance that Bali is safe. The eruption of Mount Agung has only impacted an area within a radius of 8-10 kilometers from the mountain’s crater. With regard to this latest development, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla presided over a limited meeting related to tourism in Bali.

“We want to show to tourists, to the world, that tourism in Bali is safe,” said President Jokowi at the beginning of a limited meeting in Bali on Friday evening.
