US President Donald Trump announces that the United States recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and will move its embassy there, during an address from the White House in Washington, US, December 6, 2017.

United States President Donald Trump is setting the world on fire. These days, he is faring no better than Emperor Nero (37-68), who fiddled while Rome burned. It seems there is no appropriate analogy to portray what Trump has done by officially recognizing Jerusalem as Israelโ€™s capital city and initiating a plan to move the US Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to the city.

The decision was made at a time when tension on the Korean peninsula remains high, as North Korea continues its threat of unleashing its nuclear warheads; war, genocide and bloodshed are still happening in Yemen, Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan; and terror attacks lurk everywhere. Trump made the decision unilaterally.
