KPK Reinvestigates Novanto
The KPK is reinvestigating House of Representatives Speaker Setya Novanto in connection with the e-ID card corruption case.

JAKARTA, KOMPAS — The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is reinvestigating House of Representatives (DPR) Speaker Setya Novanto in connection with the e-ID card corruption case. Amid the circulating reports on the matter, the House Secretariat General has sent a letter to the KPK, saying that the KPK would need the President’s approval to investigate Novanto.
The reinvestigation of Novanto was seen in a letter dated Nov. 3, 2017 and bearing the KPK logo on the Notification of the Start of an Investigation. The letter, signed by KPK Director of Investigation Aris Budiman and sent to Novanto, refers to a separate letter issued on Oct. 31 that ordered the start of the investigation (Sprindik).
