Novanto\'s Fate Decided Today

JAKARTA, KOMPAS — The pretrial hearing on the decision of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to name House of Representatives (DPR) Speaker Setya Novanto as a suspect in the electronic ID card case will arrive at a verdict on Friday (29/9) at the South Jakarta District Court.

After the verdict is issued, the Golkar Party’s central executive board (DPP) will hold a plenary session to discuss recommendations for the party’s electability team. One of the recommendations is that Novanto step down as the Golkar general chairman, for the reason that his legal case was one of the causes of the party’s declining electability rating.
