An officer of the Bandung Transportation Office at the West Java capital observes monitors displaying CCTV camera feeds in the Traffic Control command center, Monday (11/9). The cameras, installed at several major intersections in the city, are equipped with loud speakers for blaring out reminders and instructions to motorists seen violating traffic regulations. The innovative technology and social sanction approach is part of the cityโ€™s strategy to regulate and order traffic.

Welcome to the Jl. Muhammad Toha intersection. Motorists from the north or from Tegalega to the south or Bandung regency are asked to move behind the zebra crossing. โ€œGive way to pedestrians."

Cutting through the roar of motorcycles in Bandung, West Java, Tuesday (12/9), the voice startled three motorcyclists. They were the focus of the order, having stopped on the zebra crossing at a red light.
