Esther Gayatri Saleh, 54, walked with confidence to the Nusantara 219 (N219) aircraft at Husein Sastranegara International Airport in Bandung, West Java, on Wednesday (16/8/2017). She had a scenario for the turboprop aircraft’s maiden flight clearly mapped out in her head.

“I cannot miss even one step from my training session. I also need to be mentally ready. If I have doubts, it will be dangerous for the flight,” Esther said.
