JAKARTA, KOMPAS โ€” Billions of rupiahs in funds allocated for village development (village funds) every year cannot be disbursed from local government accounts due to administrative problems. As a result, thousands of villages cannot use the village funds timely, and some even do not receive the funds until the end of the fiscal year.

Village funds are disbursed through the State Budget (APBN) as stipulated in theLaw No. 6/2014 on Villages. The funds are allocated for rural development and improving the people\'s welfare. The director general of fiscal balance at the Finance Ministry, Boediarso Teguh Widodo, said in Jakarta on Sunday that the delayed disbursements were mainly due to two administrative incapacities.
