Indonesia’s mixed doubles pair of Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir celebrate victory after beating Chinese badminton pair Zheng Siwei and Chen Qingchen in the 2017 BCA Indonesia Open at the Jakarta Convention Center plenary hall on Sunday night (18/6). Tontowi and Liliyana won their first Indonesia Open after winning 22-20, 21-15.

JAKARTA, KOMPAS – Mixed doubles pair Tontowi “Owi” Ahmad and Liliyana“Butet” Natsir have won three All England titles, one world championship title and a Rio 2016 Olympic gold medal. Now, they have finally won the BCA Indonesian Open after seven years’ playing as a pair.

A smash shot by Owi, which the opponent failed to return, ended the long wait for Owi-Butet, who became champions in front of a home crowd. In the final, which was held at the Plenary Hall of the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Sunday (18/6), Owi-Butet defeated the world number one mixed doubles pair, Zheng Siwei-Chen Qingchen (China), 22-20, 21-15.
