Residents drive on a toll road section in Ujungrusi village, Adiwerna district, Tegal regency, Central Java, Thursday (8/6). The section is part of the Pejagan-Pemalang toll road, which is expected to be operational 10 days before Idul Fitri this year. The new toll road spans 110 kilometers from the East Brebes tollgate to Gringsing, Batang regency.

JAKARTA, KOMPAS β€” The National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas) is preparing five traffic engineering scenarios to tackle gridlock during the Idul Fitri exodus season. The traffic police will also directly manage the traffic to prevent overlap.

If all roads along Java’s northern route were gridlocked, said Korlantas chief Insp. Gen. Royke Lumowa during a meeting with House Commission V on Thursday (8/6), the corps would carry out the fifth scenario to redirect traffic from Dawuan to Purbaleunyi on the southern route.
