Environmental activists, together with local villagers, prepare to drag away sacks of garbage from Djuanda Forest Park in Cibodas village, Lembang district, West Bandung regency, West Java, Saturday (22/4). Litter in the conservation area has been piling up for around 10 years. Initiated by Balai Tahura Djuanda in cooperation with eco-resort The Lodge Maribaya, the activity involved the people of Cibodas village.

A collaboration of the government, community and business people to protect the environment has slowly found its way in West Bandung regency, West Java. Efforts to create a better future are easier when it is done together.

Dark clouds approached as a dozen or so sacks were carried from Cigalukguk hamlet in Cibodas village, Lembang district, West Bandung, on Saturday (22/4/2017) afternoon. The sacks were filled with garbage. The discarded food packages, bottles and plastic of all kinds created an unmistakable stench. However, it did not deter Rudi Supriadi, 38, a resident of neighboring Cikahuripan village, in his efforts to better care for others and the environment.
