JAKARTA, KOMPAS – The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) is the only faction in the House of Representatives that has officially announced that it will not delegate one of its members to become part of the special committee that will carry out the inquiry into the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). This stance by the PKS means that, technically, the inquiry committee will not be able to be formed.

That is because Article 171 of the House regulation No. 1/2014 on the Code of Conduct stipulates that a special inquiry committee must consist of members from all factions. According to House deputy speaker Taufik Kurniawan, this matter has been discussed and is understood by all the factions in the House consultative body. This discussion took place on Thursday (18/5), in Jakarta, and was attended by all faction leaders and House speakers.
