President Joko Widodo and Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte leave a state ceremony at Malacanang Palace in Manila, the Philippines, on Friday (28/4/2017). The document was signed by ministers of each state.

MANILA, KOMPAS – The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) fears that the recent instability in the Korean Peninsula could have a serious impact on the region and regions elsewhere, including Southeast Asia. Amid deep concerns over rising tension in the region, ASEAN has urged North Korea to carry out its obligations in accordance to the United Nations Security Council Resolution and international law. ASEAN wants international peace and security to be maintained.

Kompas reporter Benny Dwi Koestanto, from Manila, the Philippines, reported that this message was part of a joint statement issued by ASEAN foreign ministers at the 30th ASEAN Summit foreign ministers meeting in Manila, the Philippines, Friday (28/4).
