E-budgeting should Continue

The implementation of an e-budgeting system on government projects is appreciated because it is considered transparent and timely, with fund allocation sthat are in line with what is needed.

JAKARTA, KOMPAS — The e-budgeting system implemented in the Jakarta regional budget should be continued. This step is important to prevent leaks in the management of regional finances. The community’s involvement is also needed to supervise the budget use.

Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja “Ahok” Purnama confirmed on Tuesday (25/4) that the e-budgeting system will continue, unless the new governor does not want to implement it. The key to the sustainability of e-budgeting is at the regional head; a law-abiding regional head will force his subordinates to be law-abiding as well.
