JAKARTA, KOMPAS – The 2017 Jakarta gubernatorial election reached its end peacefully on Wednesday (19/4/2017). Based on the quick counts of several survey agencies, the Anies R. Baswedan and Sandiaga S. Uno pair defeated incumbent candidates Basuki Tjahaja Purnama and Djarot Syaiful Hidayat by a margin of between 15 percent and 18 percent.
There is still time until October 2017 before the capital’s new leaders are inaugurated to fulfill their promise of bringing Jakarta toward a better future.
