In the midst of the government’s plan to establish an earth park, the Karangsambung geological site in Kebumen, Central Java, contains an outcropping of ocean floor aged hundreds of millions of years and is under the threat of illegal mining.

Masikun’s body shined, reflecting the sun\'s rays as he emerged from the Luk Ulo River in Karangsambung village, Kebumen, on Sunday (6/6/2021). He had spent half the day diving to the bottom of the river, as deep as 1.5 meters, to collect sand.
